June Breakfast – Health Matters

Title: Health Matters in the Workplace
Location: Dutton Gregory, St Peter’s Street, Winchester. SO23 8BT
Time: from 8.30 am to 9.45 am
Date: Tuesday 18th June 2013
Guest speaker: Anne Bartlett
The relevance to People Management: employee health is of interest to everyone, whether to comply with regulations or simply be a better employer.

‘Health and Safety’ obligations are often surrounded by myth and mis-quoting.

Anne Bartlett, a specialist in occupational health for the Health and Safety Executive, will lead a positive session in which a few myths can be dispelled, and discussing how we can all be pro-active about promoting health and well-being in the broader sense.

This will be informal and far from a ‘you must do’ session and of general interest whatever your place of work.

Anne Bartlett is an Occupational Health practitioner working for the Health and Safety Executive, and she has a desire to keep discussions rooted in reality and practical matters.

Description: Preventing travel-related illness – led by Joanna Lowry

Whether you travel socially, have employees who travel on their holidays or you have a business in which employees travel on business, you have an interest in a safe and healthy return to work. It is important from a personal and financial aspect that travel does not result in unwanted baggage, and Joanna’s advice is practical and comprehensive.

Joanna is a travel health nurse specialist and managing partner at Winchester Travel Health. She is also an associate trainer for the National Travel Health Network and Centre (NaTHNaC) and immediate past chair of the People Management Breakfast. She puts across her wealth of experience in a very practical and humorous way and we are bound to go away both amused and better informed. The PMB has yet another opportunity to benefit from accurate, expert advice that we can learn and benefit from.
