October Breakfast – Coping with Overload

Time: from 8.30 am to 9.45 am
Venue: Dutton Gregory, St Peter’s Street, Winchester. SO23 8BT
Subject: Overload at Work
Guest speaker: James Richardson
Topic – Work Overload – avoiding or dealing with stress and being overloaded
The relevance to People Management – Many business leaders work very long hours, and work can often occupy our minds wherever we are.

Work overload is a common problem for small businesses and the self-employed. It is often compounded by a failure to identify and tackle the root causes in an appropriate way. This can lead to stress, inefficiency and burn-out; none of which will benefit your business.

James Richardson will be talking about ways to identify causes of overload, and suggesting some ways to determine the most effective and appropriate means of overcoming such problems.

James is a consultant specialising in providing companies with advice about HR and Anti-Bribery strategies. He spent many years working in HR roles in the Voluntary Sector and the Publishing Industry, latterly as Personnel Director of an international Publishing Group, before becoming involved in Corporate Social Responsibility. This has given him many opportunities to study overload at close quarters, and to experiment with strategies (some good, some not so good) for dealing with it.
